Purpose
The Driver’s Licensing and Open Track Day is open to all Club members and the general public. It is designed for practice sessions and to facilitate the licensing process for new competitors for the 2026 season. The day helps newcomers experience race-like conditions in their own cars or bikes, and welcomes enthusiasts interested in joining the GMR&SC to sample the racing environment. Participants are encouraged to hone their skills, explore the limits of their machines in a controlled setting, and build camaraderie ahead of the 2026 Championships.
Who Can Attend
- All GMR&SC members/competitors
- Members of the public interested in joining the GMR&SC for 2026
- Individuals seeking a race license for the 2026 season (including new entrants to the Time Attack series)
- Anyone wishing to experience the South Dakota racetrack in a controlled environment
Machines
- Cars: Race-built and standard street cars are permitted. Roll cages are highly encouraged for street cars.
- Bikes: Racing and street bikes are welcome. Riders must have the necessary safety gear (helmet, gloves, etc.).

Liability & Control
This is not an official calendar race event; all participants assume their own risk. The day will be managed by coordinators, volunteers, and executive members to ensure that discipline and safety protocols are maintained.
