The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMRSC), alongside over 30 prominent motorsport and mobility clubs across the Americas and Caribbean, has formally expressed its support for Mohammed Ben Sulayem to serve a second term as President of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
In a joint letter signed by club leaders from countries including Brazil, Argentina, Trinidad & Tobago, Canada, and Guyana, the members praised President Ben Sulayem’s transformative leadership over the past four years. The letter commended his swift action in stabilizing the FIA’s financial foundation and his successful rollout of modern governance and management reforms.
GMRSC President Mahendra Bodhoo added his signature to the collective statement, which emphasized the importance of continuing the ambitious reforms initiated under Ben Sulayem’s term. “The turnaround achieved in such a short time has been extraordinary,” the clubs stated. “Your vision, transparency, and commitment to inclusivity have earned our trust.”
Under Ben Sulayem’s presidency, the FIA has made notable strides in both motorsport and mobility leadership. His inclusive approach to engaging with member clubs has resulted in stronger collaboration, increased visibility for smaller nations, and new opportunities for development across all regions.
“Four years is simply not enough to complete the momentum of change,” the letter concluded. “We strongly encourage you to seek re-election at the upcoming General Assembly so that you may continue this important work with our full support.”
The unified show of support sends a powerful message ahead of the FIA’s next election, signaling regional confidence in the continued leadership of Mohammed Ben Sulayem at the helm of global motorsport’s governing body.
