FAST Food Company, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), is the first major sponsor of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) for the 2020 season.
The first order of business that will see the company branding is the club’s circuit-racing event billed for February 16th at the South Dakota Circuit.
Speaking of the sponsorship, Club President Rameez Mohamed said, “We are glad to have secured the yearly sponsorship of such a large company like KFC so early in the year.”
“It really sets us up for the year 2020 in a nice way to know that they will be a part of our events, starting with the National Race of Champions in a few weeks,” Mohamed added.
The sponsorship will extend to all events under the GMR&SC for 2020, including Drag and Endurance racing, in addition to circuit- racing events.
Meanwhile, the club confirmed that they are well into the planning stages for the circuit event, with Mohamed saying, “The wheels of planning for the event have already begun.”
“We’ve been in contact with the stakeholders that need to be in place for the event and we can safely say that we are more than 50% complete for the event.”
It is not clear if Mohamed, into his second term as president, is interested in making a third term come next Monday, when the club holds its AGM and elections.
